Mepunga Vineyard
In 2012 we began our journey of propagating and planting our own small Hobby Vineyard next to our Home. It is nestled amongst Gum trees and closely planted to Pinot Noir and Riesling. We created this vineyard to maximise the small space we have on our 1 acre block, with this fitting on just over a quarter of an acre, with 312 vines, it is totally hand tendered due to its close plantings.
The soils are different to our Warrnambool vineyard, although it has similar influences, from Mount Warrnambool (a former volcano) and the Sea, that contribute to black sandy loams over clay.
Cool sea winds influence the climate, creating wines of great character that are often in low volumes, creating great quality and definition.
All wines bottled from our Estate vineyard have Blue Wren artwork on the label.
